The Special Education Resource Center and Library (SERCL) opened its doors on March 29, 2005. We are located at the Salisbury Central Administration Building, 718 The Plain Road in Westbury, Our goal is to provide resources to parents, educators and the school community at large regarding issues affecting our special education population. We want to educate parents, teachers and members of our community to familiarize themselves with legislation, regulations and policies. This knowledge will enable everyone to become stronger advocates for children. In this Resource Center we will offer professionally run workshops. As a lending library, we provide reference books, magazines, periodicals, video tapes and CD's which reflect the special education spectrum of disabilities.
We invite you to come and visit our Center. We plan on having browsing hours throughout the year. Please contact Marcee Rubinstein at 486-8540 for more information.
We have worked diligently over the years to make this Center a reality for our community. Our commitment is to our special education students, their families and our professional staff. We know that in working together we can all make a difference.
